Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer Old Norse Language and Literature

Full Time: The appointment will be on UCL Grade . The salary range will be Grade 8:  £40,216 - £47,441 per annum, Grade 9:  £51,563 - £56,067 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

UCL's School of European Languages, Culture and Society is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Old Norse Language and Literature. The ideal candidate will be a scholar in any area of Medieval Scandinavian Studies and will be expected to teach Old Norse language and literature, as well as contribute to team-taught courses on Nordic culture and history and design new courses that draw on his or her own research.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of high quality research in the area of Medieval Scandinavian Studies and a proven ability to teach Old Norse language and literature at undergraduate and postgraduate level. A PhD is essential and excellent knowledge of modern Scandinavian languages and culture is high desirable.
