About the School A Postdoctoral Research position is available at Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL) with Prof Conrad Mullineaux. QMUL is one of the UK’s leading research-focused higher education institutions, with a budget of £285 million per annum. The position will be funded by a BBSRC research grant to investigate the spatial dynamics of electron transport in cyanobacteria, using a combination of in vivo fluorescence microscopy with molecular biology, biochemistry and spectroscopy. The aim is to understand how the distribution of photosynthetic and respiratory electron transport complexes in the thylakoid membranes is controlled, and how this redistribution of electron transport complexes acts as a switch between different pathways of electron transport.
