Summary
The Division of Imaging Sciences and Biomedical Engineering is a cutting-edge research and teaching division, dedicated to the development, clinical translation, and clinical application of medical imaging and computational modeling technologies. Our objective is to facilitate research and teaching guided by clinical questions and is aimed at novelty, understanding of physiology and pathophysiology as well as development of new diagnostic tools and therapies. Basic science can, in this way, be rapidly translated into clinical applications (and vice versa).

Details
The Technology Strategy Board and Technomed Ltd. are funding this 30-month post under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership scheme. The aim of the partnership is to enable Technomed  to work with academics and clinicians in the Division of Imaging Sciences & Biomedical Engineering at King’s College London to develop a novel e-Health monitoring and recording system for patients, care homes and primary care. The Research Associate will work with Technomed and King’s academics to deliver the project.

As a KTP Associate on this project you will develop advanced skills in commercial software development, digital signal processing, validation and clinical testing of e-Health solutions and project management. A strong desire & commitment to drive scientific discoveries & developments into clinical practice and the e-Health market place is key to this role.

The successful candidate should have either a 1st or 2:1 in computer science, engineering or a related  discipline.  An MSc or PhD in signal processing, biomedical engineering or computer science and/or industrial experience is highly desirable.

The post would suit someone with an industrial or academic background and a keen interest in the clinical translation and commercialisation of research. They should also have experience of object-oriented programming (e.g. Java and C++), knowledge of PHP and database programming. Ability to speak/read Mandarin/Chinese is desirable.

Salary
The appointment will be made up to £33,250 per annum plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum

Fixed term contract up to 30 months
