ITS Systems Engineer

Salary: £36,300 - £38,500 per annum, dependent on qualifications, skills and experience

We are looking for a skilled and experienced ITS System Engineer to support and maintain the core application, servers and systems of Regents College. This full time post will take ownership of all responsibility for managing Windows servers, Exchange 2010, managing server hardware, SAN (storage area network) development and management, programming Windows Active Directory, managing the VMware ESX virtual infrastructure and software deployment. 

Reporting into the ITS Network, Infrastructure, Applications & Development Manager,  this role will play a vital role in ensuring our core IT infrastructure is fit for purpose, by working with existing team members and other staff in improving the performance and effectiveness of our key corporate systems. 

This role includes managing projects both within the ITS team and external suppliers. The post holder will also be expected to contribute fully to the strategic planning of the ITS Department and be the focus for expertise in the area of ITS Network. 

YOU will have: 

Substantial specialist knowledge and experience with managing Windows servers in a large scale environment.Extensive experience in leading a large scale windows servers and application deployment projects preferably using Prince2 methodology.The ability to research, plan, coordinate, and implement upgrades in accordance with ITIL  best practices.The ability to communicate effectively and to engage and interact with all levels of the business.Experience in ensuring that essential systems can be brought back into service rapidly in the event of a major incident such as those affecting key hardware or Data Centre availability.
