The Role
Goldsmiths Department of Psychology is a thriving centre of excellence in research and teaching with around 450 undergraduates, 130 postgraduates (including PhD and MSc students across 5 postgraduate programmes) and 35 academic staff. The 2011 QS World University Rankings placed the Department in the UK top 20 overall, and 8th for research publications. In the December 2008 RAE, the Department’s research activity was rated in the top 25 of UK psychology departments, with 50% of its research judged as internationally excellent or world-leading. The Department has a track record of attracting significant research income, involving both interdisciplinary and cross-cultural work; thus reinforcing Goldsmiths’ key values.

The Department’s research-led teaching is highly rated: in the 2011 National Student Survey, 93% of students described the course as ‘intellectually stimulating’.

You will have a PhD and a track record of research in your area published in international peer-reviewed journals, plus evidence of, or clear plans for developing, an externally-funded research programme. In addition you will demonstrate the enthusiasm and skills to teach students, and supervise their research, at all levels of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
