Research Administrator (0.2/0.4 FTE)

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to provide dedicated administrative support to assist the Project Manager in selecting which government documents should be prioritised for digitisation. The postholder will be responsible to visit The National Archives (TNA) to create digital images of the documented to be digitised, and to review digital images of documents already taken and create meta-data.

Requirements

An excellent communicator, you will have the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently. In addition, you must be self-motivated with good organizational skills and have the ability to maintain enthusiasm, effectiveness and a sense of calm while working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines.

Experience of archival work is essential, and experience of The National Archives would be advantageous.

About The Department

The Institute for the Study of the Americas promotes, coordinates and provides a focus for research and postgraduate teaching on the Americas - Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America and the United States - in the University of London.

Further Information

The post is offered at 7 or 14 hours per week, the precise configuration of hours to be agreed with the line manager. The post is fixed-term for 3 months initially.
