About National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources : National Institute of Animal Genetics was accepted in principle during IV Five Year Plan. During 5th and 6th Five Year Plan, various government agencies coordinated the efforts for the establishment of the Institute. Therefore, National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources and National Institute of Animal Genetics were set up on 21st September, 1984.
