Bhabha Atomic Research Centre( OCES-2013)

Last Date : Online Application would be received up to 20/01/2013 for Science Graduates and last date is 31/03/2013 for Engineering candidates and Science candidates on the basis of GATE-2013.

One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates & Science Post-Graduates starting in August 2013 will be conducted at BARC Training Schools situated at: BARC, Mumbai; IGCAR, Kalpakkam; NFC,Hyderabad; RRCAT, Indore; AMD, Hyderabad.Performance above a certain threshold at the BARC Training School will entitle Trainee Scientific Officers(TSOs) to a Post- Graduate Diploma of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to be University andcould also earn them credits towards M.Tech. / M.Phil. programs of HBNI.

A Trainee Scientific Officer (TSO), who scores a minimum of 50% aggregate marks on completion of the Training Program, is declared to have passed the course successfully. Successful TSOs will be posted as Scientific Officers in one of the following DAE units:

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai*,Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam,Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT), Indore,Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), Kolkata,Heavy Water Board (HWB), Mumbai*,Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), Hyderabad*,Board of Radiation and Isotope Technology (BRIT), Mumbai*,Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), Mumbai*,Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Ltd (BHAVINI), Kalpakkam*,Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration & Research (AMD), Hyderabad*,Uranium Corporation of India Ltd (UCIL), Jaduguda*.

*These units have their Head Office at the indicated locations. Placement can be at the Head Office or at other facilities of these units located in different parts of India.

Eligibility :

Engineering Graduate or a Science Post-Graduate having minimum  60% marks

Qualifying Degree :

BE/ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engg.) in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Metallurgy/ Civil/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer/ Instrumentation/ Engineering Physics and Food TechnologyM.Sc. in Physics/ Chemistry/ Biosciences/ Geophysics/ Applied Geophysics/ M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geology/ Applied Geology/ Applied Geochemistry

Bond :

Selected candidates are required to execute an agreement and a personal Indemnity Bond to serve DAE for at least three years after completion of Training. Indemnity Bond is for ` 2,45,000/- for OCES TSOs

Emolument :

During Training:

(i) Stipend and Allowances: OCES TSOs as well as DGFS Fellows are paid a stipend of ` 20,000/- per month during the period of their training and a one-time book allowance of ` 5,000/-,

(ii) Boarding and Lodging in DAE or DGFS Institute Hostel is mandatory.

On Appointment: Appointment in DAE units shall be as a ‘Group A’ Gazetted Officer of the Government of India except in BHAVINI, NPCIL and UCIL which are governed by the service rules of Corporations.

Grade and Pay Scale:

Appointment in all the units shall be as a Scientific Officer (C) in the Pay Band-III `15,600-39,100 with grade pay of ` 5,400. Appointment will be at the beginning of the pay scale with OCES TSOs getting two or three increments depending on their performance during the OCES program and the DGFS Fellows getting three or four increments depending on their performance in M.Tech. / M.Chem.Engg. and four-month Orientation Course for DGFS Fellows (OCDF). Total Emoluments (with three increments) at the time of joining including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance at the present Mumbai rate will be approximately ` 52,000/-. In addition, other Allowances such as Leave Travel Concession by air, every year up to first eight years, and an annual Professional Update Allowance are also payable. A comprehensive Contributory Health Service Scheme for employees and their dependent family members is also available at all DAE Units.

Incentive scheme :

With a view to promote excellence in all activities undertaken by DAE, officers are also eligible for additional incentives up to 30% of their basic pay subject to fulfillment of the targets set and their performance in the periodic appraisals carried out as per the existing norms.

How to Apply :

Science candidates are required to visit website http://oces.hbni.ac.in after December 20, 2012 to submit their applications. Candidates, from whom an Application Fee is required, may download the three fold challan from the website and make the payment of Application Fee in any branch of the State Bank of India. After making the payment and getting the UNIQUE TRANSACTION NUMBER, the candidate has to enter the said number as a response to the relevant query in the online application form.

Engineering candidates are required to visit the website http://oces.hbni.ac.in after March 1, 2013 where a link will be provided to the Online Application Portal. Engineering candidates may note that the website http://oces.hbni.ac.in is only meant for applicants in the Science Disciplines and all applications made by engineering candidates on this website will be invalid. Instructions for payment of Application Fee for engineering candidates will be specified on the Online Application Portal meant for engineering applications.

Note: Science candidates and Engineering candidates who have paid Application Fee at a branch of State Bank of India must produce original challan at the time of Selection Interview.
