Vacancy Overview

Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor post in the Department of Sociology and the recently established University of Warwick Q-Step Centre.

This is one of eight new permanent posts that will join an existing team of quantitative social science scholars as part of the Warwick Q-Step Centre. Whilst based in Sociology, you will be a member of a broader team within the new Warwick Q-Step Centre.

You will be an outstanding early career scholar with expertise in quantitative methods, broadly defined. You will be required to deliver high quality publications in Sociology to complement the Department’s existing research profile and to enhance its REF submissions. In addition, you will be expected to develop bids for external research funding and to teach quantitative methods at undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the Department and Faculty of Social Science.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates from a minority ethnic background, as they are currently under represented within the department

JOB PURPOSE:
