At the Department of Transport an Associate Professor position is available within the field of Transport Optimisation and/or Transport Logistics. The Department of Transport at DTU is the largest transport research community in Denmark and among the largest university-based transport communities in the Nordic countries. The department employs internationally recognised scientists and performs research, teaching of students and cooperates widely with the transport sector through innovation projects with public and private companies and via public sector consultancy for governmental organisations.
The department’s activities are closely related to (and inspired by) finding leading edge solutions to problems arising in real world transport and logistics planning. Therefore, the department has a close cooperation with industry and other world leading universities as well internally across the department.
Responsibilities and tasks
The successful candidate should conduct research within transport optimisation and/or transport logistics at the highest international level and will also develop and pursue the dissemination of research results achieved in international peer-reviewed journals. The candidate is expected to take a leading role in the writing of new and innovative research proposals in order to attract external funding. Furthermore, the candidate will be teaching and must develop teaching materials at all levels in the field of transport optimisation and/or transport logistics. Finally, the candidate should actively participate in attracting and co-supervising BSc and MSc students and contribute to the development of the course curriculum.
