Salary: Up to £30,000

Based at Narec, Blyth, Northumberland, you will help to achieve the partnership’s objectives to develop feasible techniques dedicated to the condition monitoring of wind turbine drive train sub-systems and DC-link capacitors.
You will have a PhD (or at least have submitted your thesis) or Masters Degree. This qualification will be in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline. You will also have experience in one or more of the following areas: machine condition monitoring; electrical system condition monitoring; signal processing; and fracture mechanics.
You will have good interpersonal and team working skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and work to tight deadlines.
The position comes with benefits including a £6,000 individual training budget and management training. With the support of academic experts and a KTP Adviser, this is an excellent opportunity which will present an extremely interesting, varied and challenging role. For candidates with a Masters Degree there may be an opportunity to undertake a PhD as part of this role.
The post is fixed-term for 3 years.
