Lecturer - Screenwriting for Film and Television

 17.5 hours (0.5FTE) per week.

The School of Arts and Creative Industries is seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Screenwriting.  An experienced professional with a committed, student-oriented approach is required to join the team within the Photography and Film subject group. Film has a well-established reputation at Edinburgh Napier and our Screenwriting programmes are accredited by Creative Skillset.  Screen Academy Scotland is one of only three Creative Skillset Film Academies in the UK. Applicants should have extensive experience of teaching screenwriting within a Higher Education setting, together with an understanding of the demands of working as a writer in the contemporary film and/or broadcasting industry. They should be able to teach across a range of film genres and programme formats.  A commitment to learning and teaching is essential.Candidates should possess an honours degree (or relevant demonstrable professional experience of equivalent standing) in a relevant discipline.  Excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work well within a team, and the ability to motivate students and critically guide their work, are essential.
