The College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University, invites applications for the Marubeni Chair in Social Sciences. Qatar University and Marubeni Corporation have entered into a strategic relationship to offer courses on Japan within the College of Arts and Sciences with the position funded by Marubeni Corporation. The Marubeni Chair shall be responsible for providing general education courses within the field of Social Sciences which focus on Japan at Qatar University.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Teaching undergraduate courses within the field of Social Sciences which focus on Japan or East AsiaTeaching other related topics or introductory level classes.Provision of a general educational lectures and sessions for studentsActive participation in the department, program and college committeesCommitment to research and scholarshipAcademic Rank:

Qualifications:
A PhD with a focus in Social Science as applied to Japan or East Asia Relevant teaching experienceFluency in English (Arabic is preferred)Required Documents: Please apply online by submitting a cover letter and curriculum vitae, as well as a dossier that includes three letters of recommendation.
