Post-doctoral Research Assistant Multilinear Maps in Cryptography

Salary is in the range £32,862 to £34,724 per annum inclusive of London Allowance

The ISG is seeking to recruit a post-doctoral research assistant to work in the area of “Multilinear Maps in Cryptography”.  The position is available from January 31st 2014 and will run for three years.

The PDRA will work alongside Prof. Kenny Paterson and the Visiting Researcher Prof. Dennis Hofheinz (TU Karlsruhe) on the development of cryptographic schemes making use of multilinear maps, and formal security analyses of these schemes.

The PDRA will also work with Prof. Paterson, a second Visiting Researcher Prof. Steven Galbraith (University of Auckland) and Dr. Martin Albrecht (who will also be a PDRA on the project) on the problem of developing sound abstractions of current and future proposals for multilinear maps that are suitable for use by cryptographers.

Applicants should have already completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in a relevant discipline. Applicants should have an outstanding research track record in Cryptography, ideally with significant experience in the analysis of cryptographic schemes using provable security techniques. Applicants should be able to demonstrate scientific creativity, research independence, and the ability to communicate their ideas effectively in written and verbal form.

This is a full time post, available from 31st January 2014 or as soon as possible thereafter for a fixed term period of 36 months. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
