Fixed Term (16 months)
This full-time post is available immediately for up to 16 months. Based within a multidisciplinary research team, led by Professor Mark Kearney, you will be working on a British Heart Foundation-funded project investigating the role of the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor in endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis. Our fundamental aim is to identify new targets to treat diabetes related cardiovascular disease. You will contribute to this aim by dovetailing with our ongoing programme of work examining the effect of insulin receptor: IGF-1 receptor stoichiometry in endothelial nitric oxide bioavailability.
With a strong background in biomedical research, including experience in lab-based experiments you will also have a PhD in physiology, molecular biology or a closely related discipline and have experience in murine models of disease. You will have the ability to plan and manage a programme of research where time management and organisation is key. You will be computer literate and work effectively within a team.
