Hours: 37.5 per week, including shifts and some week-ends

This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your respiratory nursing experience and develop research experience and skills within our service. Not only will you be deepening and broadening your respiratory expertise, you will play a pivotal role in the success of research studies, whilst gaining exposure to more complex, varied and advanced research techniques. About us
The Respiratory Biomedical Unit (RBRU) provides a high quality clinical environment in which patients and healthy volunteers can undergo research programmes safely and effectively according to robust ethically protocols. We do a mixture of industry studies and academic studies can include areas such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Lung Cancer, Pulmonary Hypertension Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma (in adults or paediatrics) Our research projects attract international attention both from medical experts and the media. Within RBRU there are a number of core facilities. You would be working within the nursing team of the Respiratory Clinical Research Facility (CRF).
About you
As a Band 5 nurse you will have experience in respiratory nursing, with a real interest research nursing. We are looking for nurses who whilst acting as a support for patients on trials and their relatives, have sensitivity with an empathetic approach, and understand what compassion in care is all about. You must have a real desire to being involved in team studies as well as leading on individual studies. There is a requirement to work shifts which can include nights and week-ends due to the nature of the trials undertaken. . You will need to be confident in your care as you will be expected to monitor and manage the expected and unexpected side effects of drugs and other treatments. Well developed communication skills, both written and verbal, will be an asset. If you want to work at the forefront of research nursing, come and be part of an exceptional team.
