Summary:
This post offers an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated individual with excellent teaching skills to join the team responsible for the development and delivery of the Faculty of Engineering’s Foundation Year programme (approximately 50 students).
Working closely with the Foundation Year Course Director and staff in the Interdisciplinary Programmes Office (IPO) in the Faculty of Engineering, the successful candidate will play a fundamental role in enhancing the Foundation Year student experience, through innovative curriculum development and the delivery of engaging teaching to the highest standard. With colleagues, they will provide effective academic and pastoral support to students during the Foundation Year, and will contribute to activities for the recruitment and induction of Foundation Year students.
The successful candidate requires proven experience of teaching and curriculum development in Higher Education (or evidence of strong potential in this area), excellent organisational, IT and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to enhancing students’ learning experience. Significant previous practical experience in engineering and the ability to adapt this to inform learning and teaching is an advantage.
