Salary: The appointments will be made on the Department of Education and Skills recognised Lecturer salary scale at a point in line with current Government pay policy

Both permanent appointments are tenable from September 2014 and are teaching and research positions. The successful candidates will be required to contribute to all levels of teaching and supervision undertaken by the School, and will be expected to conduct a vigorous research programme.

Applicants must have a PhD and a demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching. Theoretical Physics is a particular strength of the Trinity School of Mathematics with active research in string theory, lattice field theory, general relativity and across a broad range of topics in quantum field theory. Applicants in all areas of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics will be considered.

Candidates will have a minimum of 2-years postdoctoral experience together with a proven publication record in high quality peer reviewed journals, and the potential for substantial publication record in medium term. Applicants should have proven ability or evident potential to attract external research funding (desirable). The appointees will have demonstrable excellence in undergraduate teaching in both small and large group environments, potential for building and development of the subject area with demonstrated vision and commitment, and experience of module development and administration is desirable.
