Bradford School of Pharmacy, with a tradition of innovation and excellence in Pharmacy education and research is significantly expanding its capacity in Pharmacy Practice Research through the creation of new research-focussed posts. We invite applications for the post offellow in pharmacy strategic research partnerships, a fixed-term part-time post (equivalent to 1½ days a week over the year) to develop research programmes and strengthen knowledge exchange between Bradford School of Pharmacy, the NHS and healthcare providers and to ensure that our research has impact on policy, practice and patient care.
The policy development and commissioning frameworks in the new NHS are complex. Within the Pharmacy Practice group, led by Professor Alison Blenkinsopp, the postholder will contribute to research, and have a specific focus to enhance pharmacy research dissemination and incorporate research findings into effective implementation of new services. The postholder will be proactive in consolidating and developing collaborative projects (research, education and training) with commissioning and provider organisations regionally and nationally. The successful applicant will also lead on integration of change management and stakeholder-relevant practice in our undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, to help prepare graduates to be agents of change in their clinical and managerial roles.
Applicants will be GPhC registered pharmacists who are already specialists in pharmacy services, medicines management and medicines optimisation. They will have had significant involvement in policy making and implementation in regions and/or for large groups of patients. The postholder is likely already to be working at a strategic level within NHS commissioning or service provision and we propose this part-time role is flexibly combined with other work commitments.
