Salary: Grade 7 (Lecturer) £30,728 to £36,661

The post fulfils an important role in the further development of the Department to a teaching-led, research-informed curricular environment. There will be the opportunity to play a key role in the development of the accountancy programme, which is based on the link with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). The programme provides the opportunity for students to undertake ACCA and CISI examinations or use the degree credits to apply for exemptions from ACCA and CISI papers or any major accountancy professional bodies in the UK and Ireland which form the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB).
You will predominantly deliver and assess Accountancy and Finance modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Qualified to PhD Level in a related discipline you will also ideally have practitioner experience in Accountancy and / or Finance. Applications are particularly invited from candidates who have a good working knowledge of the ACCA professional body. The ability to develop individual research projects in the subject area would be an asset.
The University is rapidly developing its research profile and has an ambitious agenda for the future. All new academic staff appointed to the University must either already be research active at REF 2* or above level or have the proven capacity, willingness and ability to become research active at this level for REF 2020. In the case of senior lecturer appointments the panel will be looking for documented evidence of 2* research activity.
The post is permanent, subject to the normal probationary period of twelve months.
