Lecturer in Teacher Education (PGCE)
(One year, fixed term)

Salary scale:  £21,651 - £30,282 

The School of Humanities, Education, Sport and Social Science at the University Centre Doncaster is seeking to recruit a full-time member of staff to teach on its PGCE (TLLS) programme. The successful candidate will have a degree, an appropriate teaching qualification and a Masters level qualification in Education or a related discipline.  Experience of teaching on teacher training programmes in post compulsory education is essential, along with relevant experience of the FE and Life-long Learning sectors. The post-holder will engage in a range of duties on the PGCE, including teaching and assessing on a range of modules, lesson observations, and liaising with programme mentors. In particular, we are seeking applicants with specialist knowledge and experience in the following areas: LLN, e-learning, IED, widening participation and behaviour management, ESOL, literacies. An interest and experience in developing innovative learning and teaching techniques appropriate to the FE and lifelong learning sectors would be a considerable advantage. Knowledge and understanding of education / training initiatives in the secondary sector would also be an advantage. The postholder will also have the opportunity to teach on Masters programmes within the School.
