Bradford School of Pharmacy, with a tradition of innovation and excellence in Pharmacy Education and associated research is significantly expanding its capacity in Pharmacy practice research through the creation of new research-focussed posts. Applications are invited for the post of Research Practitioner in Primary Care Pharmacy, to strengthen clinical and academic links with primary care providers.
The postholder will have a key role in the development and implementation of translational research, designing research and service development studies and ensuring we maximise their impact on primary care for the benefit of patients. The postholder will work within the Pharmacy Practice group, led by Professor Alison Blenkinsopp. The postholder’s work will directly lead to the development and testing of innovative models of pharmaceutical care that will be evaluated for their effects on patient outcomes. The postholder will also help ensure that best practice in medicines optimisation is reflected in our innovative integreated undergraduate pharmacy curriculum. We expect the post-holder will have a strong desire to strengthen inter-professional learning and promote collaborative working. The postholder’s practice base will provide a setting to enable scoping, feasibility testing and piloting of interventions; and they should also be able to engage with others to increase the scale and scope of delivery.
Applicants will be GPhC registered pharmacists with specialist expertise in medicines management in primary care health services as well as having experience of working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. We particularly welcome applicants working in areas relating to health, wellbeing and safety of the ageing population, and in cardiology.
