Summary
The role is based within the London Neurodegenerative Diseases Brain Bank. The post-holder will provide both administrative and technical support to the Brain Bank. This will include liaison with donor families and health professionals in order to facilitate new tissue donations, upkeep of donor and tissue databases and provision of advice to potential donors, medical professionals and researchers. The role also involves assisting in the processing of post-mortem tissue donations and the provision of tissue samples to researchers. The post-holder will also assist in research projects related to neurodegeneration and neuroscience.
Detail
The suitable candidate will have training in immunohistochemistry and tissue processing and an MSc or equivalent in a relevant field would be desirable. Knowledge and experience in the field of Neurodegeneration, processing of human tissue for research as well as the ability to word process and manage databases.
The appointment will be made, dependent on relevant qualifications and experience, within the Grade 5 scale, currently £26,264 to £30,424, per annum, plus £2,323 London Allowance, per annum.
