Bradford School of Pharmacy, with a tradition of innovation and excellence in Pharmacy Education and associated research is significantly expanding its capacity in Pharmacy practice research through the creation of new research-focussed posts. Applications are invited for the post of Research Practitioner in Secondary Care Pharmacy, a new post to build on our growing strengths in clinical and academic links with secondary care providers. The post is intended for a pharmacist who wishes to combine their own specialist practice with research.
The postholder will work within the Pharmacy Practice group led by Professor Alison Blenkinsopp and have a leading role in developing and conducting research across transitions of care as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. The postholder will enable participation of stakeholders, including patients and employers in our practice research. The postholder’s work is intended to directly lead to the development and testing of innovative models of pharmaceutical care that will be evaluated for their effects on patient outcomes. In particular. the post will focus on patient pathways in our key research areas, namely care of older people, or cardiology in a base hospital and involve close collaborative links with secondary care providers and also across the primary/secondary care interface.
The Bradford School of Pharmacy launched its innovative, integrated MPharm curriculum in 2012 which has been approved for 6 years by the GPhC. You will be an enthusiastic teacher who will bring your knowledge of contemporary practice to enable the learning of MPharm students, postgraduate students and pharmacy professionals. You will take a proactive role in develop new learning materials for the MPharm and our professional taught courses alongside our highly experienced and supportive team.
Applicants will be GPhC registered pharmacists who are familiar with medicines management issues throughout patient pathways, in particular in secondary care and have experience of working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. We particularly welcome applicants working in areas relating to health, wellbeing and safety of the ageing population or in the area of cardiovascular care.
